Word to the Wise: This is NOT a PG-13 drama. There is nudity and strong sexual content. When it aired in Japan the nudity was blurred out, but this is obviosuly not so with the DVD version. While Nya!'s normal policy is to bleep swear words out a bit, we felt that due to the nature of this show the bleeping was unnecessary. Don't get mad at us!

Description: This drama is akin to a Japanese version of American Pie (but better). It follows 5 friends (4 guys - Oguri Shun, Ninomiya Kazunari, Yamashita Tomohisa, Narimiya Hiroki, and a girl - Suzuki Anne) who spend the summer of their 17th year together. The guy's mission is to loose their virginity, and Chie (Anne) is their childhood friend who has returned for unknown reasons. It's a somewhat comedic story of love and friendship.

There's a total of 11 although we only completed 6 so far. It may take awhile, but we're gonna get it done either way.^^

So, back when I had my POS Compaq laptop, I could watch Stand Up!! from Nya just fine. When I got my shiny new Macbook, after getting some Mac OS X equivalents, I could watch pretty much all of my dramas, except for Stand Up!!. It's so weird. Not even the subs show up, which really confuses me because it's hardsubbed. I've used five different programs (VLC, MPlayer, Quicktime, Windows Media Player for Mac, and DIVX) to try and play the video, but none show the hardsubs and only two give me any kind of sound.

Do you guys use some sort of different formatting than other fansubbing groups or something? I seriously don't know what's going on here.

I think you should try to download the episode again. It's been tested and approved by VLC on my Mac which runs OSX, so I know for a fact that we're not descriminating against macs here. About the only thing different with this episode compared to the others is that I used Xvid to encode it, which shouldn't have made a difference with your VLC. So I think your download must have gotten corrupted.

You're right to assume that hardsubs should always show subs. It's encoded onto the picture, so there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be showing, unless the file is corrupt like I suspect. Good luck, and do enjoy the show! (We're halfway done~!)

It all depends on our daily lives and whether the series/episode is our top priority or not. Sometimes we can get episodes out in a week, and at other times take up to 6 months. That's the problem we face when subbing isn't our money maker, if you know what I mean? ;)

I believe that's quite rude and demanding of you.

Please be more considerate when you make comments like that.

They really hurt a subber's feelings.

I'm glad everyone loves our translations. You may never realize how much we slave over it... StandUp is a bit hard because there are so many cultural jokes that just don't fit in with the English language, so I often slave over how to make the humor get across... some things are simply lost in translation, as expected.

I'll be working on the next episode as soon as we get a few more things off of our plate. Even though I am physically sick I'm actually on a roll in my editing duties as we speak... ;)

Yes! I try to keep the Japaneseness of the story, and Setsuna in turn tweaks it a bit to fit our culture here. So of course some of the translations are lost between her and I, which of course can't be helped. :P But I would say we do a very good job in keeping about 98-99% of the story as close to the original as possible. :)

Patience folks, you'll get it in due time... ^^

I hope our version is remembered for being a good one, and one that is nearly a perfect translation... 8)

It's been a dream of Nya's that we could legally release Jdorama's in the USA. Someday we hope to make the steps to achieve that goal... :D
